FRIGILIANA, THREE CULTURES FESTIVAL

The Frigiliana Festival of Three Cultures is a combination of celebration and culture which began in 2006 with the idea of promoting  Frigiliana as a high quality cultural centre in the province. Culture, gastronomy, music, theatre, and more are combined in an amalgam of activities that make up each edition, literally bringing thousands of people to Frigiliana.

The Tapa Tour is without a doubt one of the most popular activities. Cuisine is also present in special gastronomiEvery year, various restaurants of the town prepare special menus specifically designed for the festival, giving importance to Sephardic, Arabic and Christian food, and giving an opportunity to try food not normally on the menus of these restaurants.

Frigiliana Festival of Three Cultures takes place in the street and revolves around the Three Cultures Market. With more than 150 stands in the historic centre of Frigiliana, this is the place to be if you plan to visit Frigiliana during the festival. But the festival is more than just the market, with street theatre performances, night fire shows, workshops, artisans and thousands of people wandering the streets of Frigiliana. The market gives access to, among other venues, the Casa de la Cultura, a 17th century building that houses a film series, conferences, and a special exhibit just for the festival.

Also, at night the space will be transformed into a music venue. Intimate, cosy, outdoors- the Casa del Apero stages a concert every day of the festival. 500 metres away, the Plaza de las Tres Culturas will host concerts for bigger crowds.

During the day, from Plaza Church to Andalucía Park the streets of Frigiliana fill up with life fun, parties and crowds. The theatre groups are active in the mornign and evening,and while walking through thewillage, we meet medieval characters or belly dancers. If we get toZacatín, we cansee oneofthe most emblematic streets of the hisotric centre where artisans are working. While we walk, the music is always present on our route, with speakers installed on every street, helping to bring us back to centuries past.

Frigiliana Festival of Three Cultures offers tourists a fun, festive experience unmatched in the province. Culture is ever present in the form of lectures and a film series, which is another way to get closer to our past and other cultures.
